I've heard of these statistics and was curious to hear some answers on the subject. One theory is that becuase us guys tend to suppress our emotions and feelings all the time and not talk about them, it can eventually lead to negative things like burst of rage, anger, depression, etc. do you think that's plausible?

  1. The divorce courts present so many men with a hopeless situation that it's a wonder more men don't commit suicide, join the Foreign Legion, etc.

  2. I thought depression was more common in women.  Conduct and anger disorders (anti-social or intermittent explosive) are more common in men.

Suicide might be interpreted as "weak" on a man's part (stereotypically).

  3. Women are more emotional.

  4. the reason women live longer than men is because they cry

the tears realease stress from the system.

i tend to be visual rather than physical.

  5. I'm confused where you got your information. Women are twice as likely to suffer from depression than men.

  6. I think those statistics might have been true 10 yrs ago...but I'm betting it is pretty equal today...funny a co worker called this morning telling a gal my age had hung herself.....we suffer from lack of family, from pride, we expect too much of others and give too little ourselves....men seek love...women seek providers.. as things get tougher men feel they can't provide and  with women holding done jobs it hurts their sense of well being...people have forgotten the art of talking and loving
