  1. The reason for conflict between mother and daughter in laws is the mother has raised her son from birth and has a special bond with him she has done everything for him basically his whole life so when she sees another female step into the picture she feels threatened b/c she knows that basically the wife is taking her place as the caretaker the wife is the one that will cook for the son and make the doctor appointments and be the new nurturer the sons mother has problems dealing with this b/c she starts to feel less important and honestly the mothers usually do not think the wife is good enough for the son or cooks as good as she does i've learned this in psychology the mother is insecure basically and doesn't want to give up her son to a women she wants to know her son will 100% be taken care of and in her eyes who could do that better?? her of course. Don't let it bother you most mother and daughter in laws have this problems it's all based on feeling left out and not wanting to see her son taken care of by another women.

  2. They are 2 women trying to look after one man.

  3. I think it is because some women have trouble really understanding that the wife is a priority in their sons life.  Also some mil are so controlling that they just have to interfere or give unsolicited advice.  Bottom line is you have two women who love the same man, although the love is different it causes problems.

  4. Mothers may have a natural attachment to their sons and may not believe their daughter-in-law cannot care for him as she can.

  5. Simply, Your Mother in Law didn't like you for her son.

  6. The mother feels like she has lost her son to the daughter-in-law.  It takes a while for both women to realize the love this man feels for his wife is not taking away from his love for his mother.  A wise mother steps back and allows her son to devote himself to his wife.  Seeing her son in a happy marriage will be her reward.  Most of the time a  daughter-in-law will learn to love her mother-in-law if she is given love and respect.

I am speaking more from my role now as mother-in-law but I've been through the daughter-in-law years too.

  7. Mother in laws think no woman is good enough for their son. I've witnessed this!

  8. because what mom wants to let her little boy go? especially when there's another women in his life other than her. it can be very upsetting i'm sure.

  9. They are the two girls who both have the guy's heart.
