It just seemed that when I was younger you joined at 18 or early 20s or you didn't join. Now it seems people in their early and mid 30s are considering it as an option. Myself included.

  1. A lot of people tended to think that the time had passed for them to join due to already being married, perhaps a career, etc..once they got into there mid to late 20's but the way things are now more and more people are putting things off until later to get settled and then think they can do it, all the more power to them. As for the age limit going up, yes it did but they are few and far between and the only branch that has had a hard time is the Army. Most of the older recruits who are going in are mid to late 20's and maybe, just maybe a few in there early 30's but they are still pretty rare. I think a lot of people just want to do it out to see what it is like, maybe they get the adventure bug, want to travel, want to do there part, a myriad of reasons I think.

  2. I am in my early thirtys and I have considered joining the military. I believe its because of all that is going on in our country. we have a war that isn't going to go away unless we take seriious action. It may be in Iraq  or somewhere else. The war on terror is something that effects us all including our children. I don't want my kids growing up in fear.

  3. Because the needed more bodies so they upped the age limits.  Now people have the option whereas they didn't in the past.
