  1. Just horrible! I pray for Chloe's full recovery. That particular dog should be put down. Once a dog has done something of that nature, they are ruined and should definitely be put down! All dogs of that breed, however, should not be slotted as a 'bad' dog breed ~ just because people messed up this ONE particular dog! Its the people that ruin a dog! Certain people should not be allowed to own certain breeds of dog!

  2. Some of these dogs are dangerous but not all staffordshire bull terriers are,

I have had one for 7 years and she is the most loving dog i have ever had, she has never so much as growled at my kids,

She even let burglars ransack my house and just laid in her basket.

But saying that she would protect my kids if someone ever hurt them as she is very protective of them,

So is it fair that this breed of dog should be banned just because there are a few idiots out there that teach their own dog to be evil, .............................

  3. them pitbulls and rotweilers are the worse..

  4. Radio waves from mobile telephones masts and global warming are combining to send them mad.

  5. God not another one !! i can't tell you how many children have been killed by dogs or injured in the uk in the past two years unbelieveable

What i reckon is that you might think a dog is soft has anything but you don't know if it feeling poorly that day irrated you should watch your children with any dog and you should never leave a child unattened with a dog

I wouldn't leave my kids unattended with an animal that can bite would you leave your child with a tiger if you thought it was soft has anything and had been brought up has a pet also you don't know what a child has done to that dog kids can not be trusted around animals either

Poor kid she is lucky to be alive hope she recovers ok

In my opinion all dogs should be banned with children people should be made to take out a license if they want a dog and they dog should have to do training

We are putting our children at risk dogs should be made to be muzzled on the street if crying sets them off

Thugs in the uk are starting to use dogs to threaten people people don't deserve to have these pets something must be done  people should wise up

  6. Ignorant owners, of course.

Just like people, animals are a product of how they are treated. You must treat all living things with love and respect.

  7. because the chavs who own them, bring them up agressive

  8. I think it comes down to how and whether the dogs are trained by their owner.

I don't think that it is intrinsically the dog's fault.

  9. They are useless as far as I'm concerned. Known as Pit Bulls in the US they are banned from ownership in some areas and others are working on a ban. I like dogs and have a dog of my own but no Pit Bull. I saw what these dogs can do first hand and the person did not survive. Why would anyone want a dog that attacks or would attack a child?

  10. Well, there's many reasons why any dog attack, especially kids.

For a start, children are smaller and closer to the dog's level, and sometimes dogs can feel threatened by their behaviour.

If a dog wants something the child has, they're more likely to jump up, causing the child to scream and the dog is more likely to attack (screams make the dog more likely to attack to react to the noise, thinking it is a game).

Sometimes children do annoy the dogs, accidently or on purpose.

But mostly, no-one knows why it happens. Children are easier targets, of course, as they are smaller, and don't know how to react.

If you're asking why a certain breed of dog attacks, it's normally training. People get an aggressive looking dog and may not train it as an attack dog, but may not train it at all, and this can lead to attacks (for example, allowing the dog to jump up.)

The basic pattern is, and this is for ANY dog, not just one who looks aggressive-

Untrained puppy, owners don't care if it jumps up or who it jumps up on.

Becomes older dog, who is in the garden watching a young child throwing a ball around.

The child looks over at the dog, locking eyes, and the dog automatically thinks that means he's playing too.

Next time the child catches the ball, the dog runs over and jumps up.

Out of fear, the child screams and holds the ball against themselves- normally at the neck/face area.

The dog thinks, because of the scream, that they're still playing.

They try and grab the ball and get the neck, or just go for the neck because they're over excited.

Child is injured, dog is shamed.

Actually, I don't think it's fair people saying 'chav owner, chav dog.' I work in a branch of pets at home and we allow dogs in. I see everything from labs to Staffies to greyhounds, and this includes 'chav' owners- and though the owners are often stand offish and cold, their dogs are friendly and show no signs of aggression. In fact, the worst jumpers tend to belong to people  who have working dogs, including higher class people with big landrovers- they bring their border collies in, or the spanials, and they jump up! I've never had a staffy or other 'aggressive' breed of dog jump up at me, and I've only been bitten by one dog who was a small breed (Jack Russel, I think) who was merely protecting his owner.

So I think it's unfair to judge on the basis of 'chavs own this dog, so this dog must be in this way.'

Any dog can attack at any time, for no reason. They are quite unpredictable.

  11. there isn't any time to think ..only  time to escapeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

  12. I can't view the link.  Is it something about Alex from Big Brother?

  13. dogs take after their owners

(look at any seaside resort with old people for a full example)

    chav owners = chav dogs

violent, ignorant, rude and should be put down

dogs are like children, nature and nurture has its effects

  14. Because the owners don't look after them properly.

  15. the dog has been ill-reared, probably neglected and/or abused by it's previous owner/s. this has made the animal go savage & given it no sense of behavioural inhibition. as the saying goes, there is no such thing as a bad dog. only bad dog owners. we should be persecuting such busers mercilessly. they should be mandatorily sterilised. if you cannot properly raise a dog? what chance would a child stand in your non-existant care. the dog had a history of aggression, yet the child's parents allowed them to be together without proper supervision? the parents mauled that child as surely as the dog did.

oh. & i for one am sick & tired of this "devil-dog" tripe. typical tabloid sensationalism. dreaming up such melodramatic tags to profit from misery & tragedy.

statistically, more folk are bitten by labradors than any other breed. that's the andrex dog, by the way.

all dogs are, at their core, carniverous predators. they are all capable of such aggression. good, or even at least adequate, training & raising suppresses such predatory behaviour. the dog learns what is & is not acceptable within it's pack (it's human family). but you get some tattooed f**kwit gets a bull terrier or rotty/doberman/alsation, gives it a name like tyson/ripper/gunga or some such "hard" nonsense & deliberately makes the beast aggressive, then we wonder that the poor thing turns nasty? as i have often said. there are too many PEOPLE! (not dogs) walking around who aren't worth the air it takes to keep them alive.

  16. i have a pitbull (Clio is her name), and i can say that my poodle is more aggressive then her.

i think that the problem is the way that a person uses to growing up his dog..and not the dog himself

(excuse me for my english...i'm an italian girl)
