Why do you think they decided to use a girl's voice to play the part of Near in the Death Note TV series?

  1. Well, Near's like really young, right?  That means that he probably hasn't changed his voice yet, so a grown man voice actor probably couldn't do a good job sounding like a young boy.  And there aren't many child voice actors out there.. so I guess having a woman do a child's voice is the best bet.  It's not that uncommon to have women playing the voices of young boys.  In my opinion, she did a convincingly good job (like everyone else on the English adaptation of Death Note).
