i know touchy subject.but i think were in Iraq because of oil.i remember when we funded 5 million in bin laden account.as a gift to the royal family for deciding to share their oil.then they ended the mutual business and boom.and the reason were not in Africa is because were still in business with them with their overflowing resources.they buy weapons guns with their resources.do they buy from us?no not necessarily but we do but their resources.

  1. We are involved in Africa but Americans know very little about that involvement.

The USA is getting involved in Somalia again:

The USA is giving weaponry to Ethiopia in order to fight Somalia:

Western Africa has plenty of oil, especially Nigeria:

Also, look up a neo-con think tank called AFRICOM:

  2. To control the Middle East as best as possible under the circumstances. Also totally agree about the capitalist intentions in Africa. Iraq's oil has always been government owned, it's a socialist country based around a single industry

  3. oil

  4. This is a bit confused.

We went to war with Iraq in 1990, after it used the fourth largest army in the world to attack Kuwait, and officially wipe it off the map. (declaring it a part of Iraq).  They also invaded Northern Saudi Arabia, and could very easily have continued and taken over Saudi Arabia.  There was concern at the time that the attack was part of a combined plan, which would have involved The Arab Republic of Yemen invading Saudi Arabia from the South, to reclaim its large historical territory withing Saudi Arabia.

Iraq had previously been at war with Iran for eight years, and had used chemical weapon attacks to inflict mass casualties.

There was no other way of getting an army of some 52 divisions strength back behind the borders of its own country, other than with military force.  Kuwait and Saudi Arabia were and are major allies of Britain and the US in the Middle East.  In addition to the oil reserves this is a major world banking centre, and Kuwait was deriving more of its income from financial operations than from its oil.   The United Nations sanctioned the military use of force to liberate Kuwait, and this was achieved with remarkably small allied casualties.  President Saddam agreed to ceasefire terms, and was allowed to remain in power.

Within a couple of years, his regime had consistently broken the terms of the ceasefire, and was menacing allied troops at the same time as comitting acts of genocide with weapons of mass destruction (nerve gas) inside his own territorial borders against the Kurds.

Don't know where you want to go to war in Africa, but you would need some rather good excuses, and they would have to be very persuasive ones.  Getting Bono and Bob Geldoff off of our TV screens is one idea, but not a very strong one.  We don't need anything much from Africa, (presumably you mean sub-saharan africa excluding South Africa).  They are all failed states waiting to be re-colonised by the Chinese.

  5. 1. Africa is full of corrupt government that were much better off under colonialism. Europeans kept order and crime level were not as high as they are right now. Even life for native Africans was better under colonialism. White Africans were not discriminated under colonialism.

    2. Saddam Hussein was a brutal dictator, who  massacred Kurds in Al-Anfal campaign. He was an unstable force in the region and his regime would have cause trouble in future. I hate it, when liberals say that they would rather have Saddam in power than current Iraqi government.

    3. Africans kicked colonialists out, so now they get to live on their own. There is no reason why a Western world should give them any foreign aid. Not at least, until they stop their corruption and stop discriminating against White Africans.

  6. Bush thought that by establishing a functioning democratic state in Iraq the people of the region would be influenced to push for democracy in their own countries and the region would become more modern and civilized.

Unfortunately you can't force democracy and modernity on people.  They've got to grow up and take it for themselves.  In the words of Dave Rabbit, "fighting for someone else's freedom is like f*cking for someone else's virginity"

  7. Iraq is a good place to kill terrorists. Africa is dying of aids.
