Is it because you disagree with their opinion?

Or do you only do it to rude people or those answering questions just to get 2 points?

  1. I express disagreement either with the answer or the manner in which it is made.

  2. I stopped giving thumbs down ages ago. I only give thumbs up and if i don't like the answer i don't give anything. If it is that spam person with his go to this site I just report him. Have done so every time i see it.

  3. When they copy and paste about 4 pages of religous text - to answer something about why grass is green or some such garbage.

  4. 1. Idiots who dont like the person.

    2. They dont like being defeated.

Edit I thought you was asking who typically thumbs down.Sorry

  5. When someone is offensive or hurtful.

  6. I generally thumbs down for dumb answers like 'ok' and people who answer simple questions and just blatantly copy the first persons answer just to grab 2 points.

  7. When no words can explain what I think.

  8. Childish answers to serious questions.

  9. i ive thumbs down if people are being trolls

  10. I just do it when people are ignorant, when they have no idea what their talking about.

If they're expressing their opinion without making a complete a*****e of himself, I might even give them a thumbs-up :)

  11. Both..Most of the time when I disagree with the person. But then again, everyone has their own views.

  12. I don't bother with thumbs down, I give thumbs up to the views I agree with.  If an answer is racist, homophobic etc then I will report it and not bother with the thumbs down

  13. I have not "thumbs down" before, maybe I will try tomorrow morning.

  14. I do it when people talk S**t, giving bad advice etc.

EDIT - a lot of thumbs down here, not sure why, i have to say i never thumbs down for their opinion, which is what all these answers are.

  15. I think only to one word answers as they dont contribute anything to the question asked.

Anything else i let go its fun to hear different opinions even if you dont agree :)

  16. I would do it if I felt what the person said was rude.

  17. Mostly it's when someone asks a question on Yahoo Answers UK that is specific to the UK and Americans give answers that relate to the US.

As an example of this, a few days ago someone asked what the emergency telephone number was in the UK, several Americans said it was 911.

This morning I saw a question where someone who was almost 18 asked if he should ask his parents to let him have a glass of beer at home even though he is a few weeks short of the legal drinking age. Again the Americans jumped in to state that the legal drinking age is 21.

These people annoy me so I give them a thumbs down.

I also give thumbs down to people who just say 'I don't know' or 'thanks for the 2 points'.

  18. People who are attaching links to info websites

    People who are rude

People who clearly didn't read the question

People who give factually incorrect answers (especially in pregnancy - gets my goat big time)

    Edit:

I just gave TD to someone in pregnancy for suggesting I shouldn't be taking my baby out in public lest they catch something! This isn't the dark ages FFS! We are encourgaed to leave the house these days!

  19. You've already stated the reasons above.

  20. I only do it when it's an obviously bigoted question

  21. Many times I get thumbs down simply for who I am. They take one look at my user name and bingo they start. I think it probably that  many anti McCanns just do not like me, so whatever the answer or question its then becomes automatic.

  22. All of the above..and then some:)

  23. I try not to thumb down, it's not what I come on here for.

Some answerers can be rude but that's there problem.

I prefer to thumb up good answers, those are the only answers worth reading and giving my attention to.
