  1. The experience of leaving heaven on their way to being born is still fresh in their minds, as opposed to an adult who hasn't seen heaven in 40 years.

  2. It is believed that children have a closer link to the spirit world  because their minds are not as developed as an adult;s mind.  Also adults usually have a set mindset that spirits do not exist and will ignore any evidence of a spirit that may or may not be in their environment.  Another thing to conceder is that children tend to have overactive imaginations and imaginary friends that might be mistaken for spirits.

  3. yes as they are more in tune with the natural where most adults grown up being taught that spirits do not exist but lmao they are taught that there is a god (no difference if he does exist) but most adults lose the ability to see spirits. Glad I still can see/feel them!

  4. Think about this, have you ever seen a young child worry about bills, boyfriend or girlfriend. Worried about a job, where their next meal is comming from. The answer is NO. A child's mind is not wrapped up in the day to day life like adults are. When we are adults we don't have the time to day dream or in simple words " just to be a child". Children are innocent and pure, so it make them more sensative towards spirits, and if they can handle seeing spirits and not be afraid of it, they carry it on into their adult hood.

  5. The folks here will most likely tell you that they are more sensitive or that their young minds haven't yet been corrupted etc...

But you know when my kids were little they were very scared of the bears and lions that were outside at night, as there are no bears or lions in this country I can only conclude that they were imaging these things - and ditto for spirits.

  6. Their minds are more open/sensitive to these sorts of things & their minds have not been conditioned, as adult minds become.

  7. Younger kids believe more and are more open minded then most older people.  Some though who believe and never stop can still see them even when their older because they don't dismiss it as "the wind"  Also heredity can play a major part in it, as well as ancestors practicing witchcraft.

  8. I think their young minds are not clouded over with all the negativity and stress in the world.

And when a child is left by them self for long periods, and just want friends to play with, I think they become more open to it happening.

And maybe they don't realize that their playmate is not from our time. It's just another person for them to play with until bed time.

  9. A child's mind 9is still learning and is open to anything that it can gather.  They haven't yet been told that ghosts are not real and that spirits are a myth.  They see the world as it is, with no bounderies.

  10. Not all children can see spirits.

Children from birth to a certain age, have not been corrupted by adult idealistic beliefs or their cynicism.

There are gifted children, but what one sees as gifted another will see as a child's imaginary "friends".

  11. There are at least two "explainations" for this,

children, who have lived before (past lives) are more in tune with themselves (in the past) because it hasn't been very long since they were born, this usually happens under the age of five, but if it's nutured it can go on.

children are more open-minded and don't cast spirits or visions off as "just their imagination".

  12. young kids believe more than adults. but some people are born with a gift. i have a gift. i can see spirits. Adults don't see them cuz they would drown themselves in holy water. they take it the wrong way.

  13. Because children are less likely to be closed to spirits.  They are more open-minded and willing to experience without prejudice than adults

  14. Because they have yet to be taught that they are seeing something that many believe is not there, and not supposed to be seen.

  15. they have incredible imaginations

  16. They haven't learned to doubt yet !!!!

  17. They're still fresh out of heaven. Their eyes havn't been corrupted by all the obstructions of "reality" yet. Therefore, as we age, our minds get filled with so much useless information, clouding up our perception of the beyond.

  18. It's funny you said that because about a week ago I was sleeping at my mates house, his mother died from Cancer and his dad now has.. a girlfriend nothing more I guess.

They were having guests over and a little girl ages four was crying saying she could see a woman In my mates Dads car. My mate told his dads girlfriend and she said dont worry children can see ghosts.

That night I could here footsteps during the night when I was CERTAIN that everyone was asleep...

  19. According to some followers of qigong that I know (and before I go on, let me just say that I don't believe this myself), the people who have a lot of yin (as in yin/yang) qi (energy) are most capable of seeing spirits. Yin qi is weak qi; yang qi is strong qi. A person with too much yin qi attracts spirits to them because ghosts themselves have so much yin qi (apparently that's the effect death has on a soul). A person who has a lot of yang qi repels ghosts and so won't see them. Maybe the deal with kids seeing spirits then is just that as children they have weaker qi and thus more yin qi rather than yang qi. That's what some people I know would say about it.

  20. Children are simply amazing.

Many people say it is their innocence others say it is because they do not know any different.

My opinion is that they haven't learned to doubt themselves yet.

My 5 year old daughter is very sensitive to spirits, when she was 2 she knew the her great-grandfathers and said they were her  "Little PopPop and her Old PopPop, she also knew her paternal grandfather as PaPa.

We had never shown her pictures until after she was talking about them, and that's when we got to put the names with faces. To this day she talks to them tells me about what they are thinking.

She has had a few experiences that you think would scare her away from it but it doesn't she just keeps trucking along. But I also encourage her to tell me about it, and try to allow her to think of things the way she wants to when it comes to this.

If my daughter was scared, wrong, or had no interest I would not support it. However she has been right and she decided she's going to do this. I do not bring her with me nor do I allow her to see my stuff that deals with the paranormal.

  21. One of the theories is that children aren't more sensitive but more likely to report their experiences rather than filtering it through rational logical reason and then explaining it in terms of something more mundane/normal even if the normal explanation doesn't fit the circumstances.

Neuro scientist Michael Persinger (link below) has studied correlations of reported paranormal activity with temporal lobe sensitivity. I don't believe this work has been done with children but as that children's brains aren't fully formed it would be interesting to me see if this correlation is stronger in children.

  22. well kids are not the only ones who see ghosts, adults do and so do babies,

  23. They have more active imaginations. It's up to responsible adults to tell them."There's no such things as ghosts".Regretfully, many do not, scaring kids and leading them into superstition.

  24. I didn't see any when I was a child...but I know there was at least one around me.

I guess they have those abilities..just like some adults do. I don't think they all do.

  25. i've been told that children are more "pure" and have an "open mind" not like accepting a lot of things, look at it as thing of the chakras and the third eye

  26. probably because they are more open minded than adults.  also their mids have not been clouded/condition by the constructs of society so the see things at face value.  And they are more intouch with thier instincts instead of depending on rationality like we are taught to do as we grow into adults.
