  1. They want to fit in with the older kids. Thats what they mean by bad example setters.

  2. Many times the kids that do that are the ones that get EVERYTHING for nothing....they want it, it's handed to them. So when it's something they want that they're not supposed to have, they just take it. I had daycare issues with a kid like that....needless to say, she doesn't go to the same daycare as my kids anymore.

  3. they want it. and mom won't buy it.

I had a kid come into my store (gas station) and steal a box of candy cigarettes. know how much they cost? 15 cents! I had to call the cops and have his dad pick him up from the police station over a box of candy that if he had asked nicely, I would have paid for! instead, he walked in, opened it, dumped it in his pocket, then ran out! his dad made him come back later to apologize and pay for it, and when he found out how much it cost, laughed at him because he was going to be SEVERLY punished when he got home. and I laughed, because all he had to do was say please.

  4. because even if that child has a giving mom, she was probably not taught with enough force for her to know that, what she was doing was very wrong. and ur using a sterio type when u say "kids under 10," so u best change the title to "why would this child..ect"

  5. For attention.

  6. Because she is trying to learn right from wrong and needs to be taught what is right.

Make her bring it back and appologize, and explain to her why it is wrong to steal.
