There are scientists on both sides that have different opinions. They generally agree that the earth is warming now. They just strongly disagree on who and/or what is causing it.

Global warming is the prediction from a large number of Scientists that Humans are causing the earths climate to climb beyond what would occur naturally that will lead to the Destruction of our Planet from AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming).

There is also a large number of Scientists that predict that the earth is simply in a warming cycle and that we humans have a small effect (if any) on the climate changes. They do not claim the doom & gloom but agree we MUST recycle when possible and conserve our natural resources.

The term global warming is a political term and is misleading. For the most part everyone agrees that we are warming up gradually the big and I mean big question is why and what is causing it?

There may be evidence that the earth is warming, but no real scientific fact to support why it is.

Most articles from both sides are just articles that base little on fact and more on short term evidence.

I think for the most part, the discussion on (Global Warming) is much like our modern day court system. Both sides just try to prove their side with hundred of websites all claiming to disprove the other, or no real proof. Both sides have extreme activists. Money and politics are major players, and the right thing or the moral thing to do is not high on the priorities list.

The only difference from our court system is that the global warming issue has no short term answer that would be equivalent to jury and /or Judge.. only time holds our future or fate. I would keep in mind that either side may be found to be wrong.

I believe we have a responsibility to conserve energy, preserve our environment and recycle everything that is feasibly possible.

I do not believe that we are causing a doom & gloom warming catastrophe. I do know that we need to prepare now by conserving energy, preserving nature and preparing for the next climate change (whether it continues to heat up or we start a cooling cycle).

You can generally tell the AGWers apart they tend to use terms like never, always, and can't this shows a very closed minded person. We need to try not to refer to people as idiots. The AGW'ers don't like being called names.

I don't think they knowingly spread lies.  I think they're looking at evidence, and come to the conclusion that global warming is happening.  They believe it to be true, and feel the need to warn the world.  Sort of like most religions, and people that believe the apocolyps is comming.

I don't know either way, but I think that people cleaning up their act, and stopping as much pollution as possible is a good thing weather global warming is true or not.

This is so funny..... I can hardly type.

    You will first have to post a bit more information before I can answer your question. I do not really understand it but of course I do not have the qualifications that you have. I was born and raised in the UK and learnt to speak English as a first language, both my parents are also English but I have no idea what "knowling" means. I have looked in the dictionary but there is nothing under "knowling".

   Anyway, in my opinion, Al Gore "knowling" spread lies about global warming so that you could fulfil your masochistic tendencies and not only make yourself look foolish on a web site that has somewhere in the region of 90 million users but also  he "knowling" lied so that nearly every person that answered your question could insult you.

   I "knowling" would not lie about this. I am "knowling" many things and am interested in "knowling" many more which is the reason that I use yahoo answers. Though I think that you feel you are already "knowling" enough because you post basically the same question everyday.

   The claim that much of Gore's evidence has "now been discredited" is itself an untruth. In a work of such breadth and scope as An Inconvenient Truth, the occasional inaccuracy, such as when Gore states that the number of polar bears is diminishing when infact the numbers were not declining (2006 remember), does not therefore mean that the ice is not melting and in no way disqualifies An Inconvenient Truth as an accurate assessment of global warming due to human activity.

No single work has gone so far to educate so many.

  If you are not "knowling" this already then maybe you dont  "knowling" as much as you think you are "knowling"

They don't.  When a global warming denier cites Al Gore, he's simply admitting he has no real arguments.  Al Gore has nothing to do with the mountain of scientific proof that says global warming is real, and mostly caused by us.

The idea that Gore is in this for the money is even more ridiculous.  He could make FAR more money sitting on corporate boards and giving speeches on most anything else.

Al is the hero of the world!!!!   First he invented the Internet.... "the electronic super highway." -we couldn't be having this on-line debate without him could we???  Then he made the theory of global warming a political hot topic that gets everybody so ramped up!  He will be my first guest at my Kamchatka Peninsula Club Med.  We will sip mimosas together bye the pool, and we will laugh together at all the naysayers that said it couldn't;t be true.
