i dont understand afganistan is having huge bumper crops od poppy and thats not wierd or anything as it happens every year ....surley they must know were the fields are in afganistan why ndo they contuine to allow them to make loads and loads of money that keeps people a slave to a life of drugs , and fuels a war that the keeps goign around in circles while america probabley sell weapons to ther enemies indirectly and fuel the war with money from poppy trade....surley that should be there first objective

  1. Where's not there to ruin there way of life. I'm sure for some its the only way for a living.

  2. Because a field of poppies is quite a sight to behold! Monet even painted a gorgeous picture (a print is in my living room) of them.

It's been a part of their culture for a very long time. Opium dens are a leech on the culture's underbelly--gives people some really cool ideas for crocheting awesome patterns, I hear. Granted, it's a very destructive habit, but it's a cash crop and people have a very difficult time passing on an AFN let alone several million. What's a little moral decay when there's money to be made, right? Heck. Hollywood has that down to a science.

I've always wondered at how people could grow crops on their bumpers. Maybe it's easier to do when the car is up on cinder blocks... Who knows?

  3. Money!

  4. It looks that you got it right. Opium has many medical applications too.Anyway, Afghanistan is still a free independent nation and America can hardly dictate it to grow opium or not to grow it.
