This country has never had a meaningful peace since it was founded in the late 1940s. It has engaged in all kinds of warfare and displacement of large numbers of people since its inception. It doesn't adhere to any kind mutual non-nuclear treaty with other countries in the region. It operates on a double standard that is bound cause hostilities with

neighboring countries. Does America really need an ally like this??

  1. No the US does NOT really need an "ally" like Israel. US support of Israel reflects the power of the pro-Israel lobby here, not concern for real interests. It should be noted that virtually NO other nation backs Israel like the US does. Considering the far greater economic etc importance of other states in that region, our support of Israel is at best ill conceived.

  2. To protect the holy land for when jesus returns

  3. Very Powerful Pro-Isarel Lobbies eg AIPAC

US gives Israel $6 Billion in aid every year (2/3 in military aid), now US is pretty much stuck. It also has strategic advantages eg it's in a position to control it's OIL assets.

  4. America's support of Israel in many ways is its way of keeping a promise. Remember Israel was founded in order to give the Jewish people who were displaced after horrors of WWII a country of their own. It was in many way a positive thing but wasn't done in a very amiable way. (the displacement of the Palestinian people).

The U.S. keeps Israel as an ally in my opinion to protect them from their neighbors as the Jewish people aren't exactly loved by their middle eastern neighbors.

The issue with Israel stances and actions go back to World War II, they simply won't be pushed over anymore and react harshly to any conceived threats to their security, this is the main reason why all their citizens are required to have military service.

  5. Yes we need them they are a democracy in the middle east its a big deal to have a ally like that in the middle east and they get attacked constantly we have good relations with them they fight terrorist and a bunch of other reasons.

  6. We don't !, and in spite of my age and experience  I still cannot figure why we, or anyone else even uses the term "ally" when it comes to Israel.  Just what has Israel ever done to help the United States, nothing that I can find or remember, except to help us get rid of about 30 billion taxpayer dollars a year, money that would be better spent here at home.

All Israel does is get our men killed, and in a few months when they hit Iran, we will loose even more of our servicemen.

Almost right friend, but not quite.

The giving of land to Israel had nothing to do with what happened in ww2, in fact the idea to give such land to Israel was concieved in the early 1900's, 1917 I believe and was part of the "Balfour Declaration".  The land turnover was to take place but was put aside because of ww1, and then ww2 came along and after the war, then England and the UN did the deed, and screwed up the whole territory.

England turned over the land without the slightest regard for those living there, and made no provisions for their welfare.

Remember, it was also England that took land way from Iraq and gave it to Kuwait.  How nice the world let's them give away land they don't even own.

  7. Now more than ever, American has always used Israels outlaw status to do what needs to be done when America doesn't want to take the heat of a leftist world.

Like bombing the nuclear plant in Iran years ago, or the one in Syria, or the threat to one in Iran now.

Get them first and argue later has worked very efficiently for them and us.

  8. To protect the holy land for the eventual return of the messiah.
