Why does Angelina Jolie and her father not get along?

Jon Voight was a solitary man who ,even though he was married to one of the most strikingly beautiful women of that time and had a loving family, wanted to just be left alone... He moved out when Angelina was only in her teens--- somewhere between 12 and 13

Her mother tried to give her a normal life but living with some of the most affluent families of wealth and privilege didn't help... They were poor and her father Jon was never around ....

so she took Voight off her name {her name really is Angelina Jolie Voight }  and had never spoke to her father since

She was awkward and had braces...scrawney and nothing to look at and all of the kids would point that out to her continuously...she became depressed and erratic --- a wild child

She became out of control -- even after she grew out of her awkwardness and started to become as beautiful as her mother she was still a wild child and a manic depressive... even trying to kill herself

She found an outlet for her erratic behavior in acting {with no help from Jon Voight}  and modeling and soon graduated to bit parts in films

Her promiscuity and her wild child antics she never really outgrew...

{ and all the stories you read in the tabloids and all the websites and nudes everything controversial she doesn't hide from }

looking for the love from her father she never really had

led to her relationship with Billy Bob Thorton --- a man that was almost old enough to be her father

Jon did however finally came around and realised how his daughter

had become such a talented actress and even offered her parts in a couple of his films .....   in his later years he tried to bridge the gap

He even got on television and cried to Jolie to ask for forgiveness { this was met with some dissapproval with those who thought it wrong of him to be airing out family problems  ON AIR }

Apparently Angelina thought the same thing because she never answered back ----

but there has been some changes as of late...  Angelina moved to have her twins in France as a tribute to her mother

and has stated that she did want her father to have an active role as Grandfather....  Jon was quick to jump on that chance
