Question:

Why does BYU still think I'm coming to their school???

I applied to both BYU and BYU-Idaho last summer. I was wait-listed for BYU (in Provo) and I got accepted to BYUI, so I decided to go there. After a while I looked at my BeSmart account (you know, where you apply online for all the BYU schools) and it said that I had been accepted to BYU after all. I declined the admission to BYU (there were 2 buttons in the message, one to accept and one to decline, so I clicked the decline one). But I still get mail and emails from BYU, like I'm going to their school. And today I got an email from BYU saying that my college transript had been accepted, and when I looked at my student account at BYU (which I have because they think I'm coming) and it had the classes that I took at BYUI last semester, like I'm transfering. How do I tell them that I'm really not going there? Do I just email them or something???

  1. You should probably just call and sort it all out. The person at admissions is probably as confused as you are.

  2. I had the same problem back in the day. You have to notify the school be it in writing or email or even calling (which at times seems to be the best way) and let them know that you will not be attending afterall. I recently just got accepted to USC as well as CSULA and another Northern California school. I have chosen to goto USC and I now have to notify both of the other schools to let them know I will not be attending. They will keep you on in unless you let them know. They have no idea what you intend to do unless you let them know. I hope this helps.
