Well yes I would, in fact I'm very proud of the city leaders in my city for having the foresight to approve a plan to drill an exploratory well within our city limits. The royalty income from this successful oil play has lessoned the burden on us taxpayers and will continue to do so for decades to come.

Clearly we need to drill everywhere oil is known to exist in the United States in order to lesson our dependence on foreign sources.

The technology that exists today to withdraw oil is far superior to that of merely 10 years ago, hence the non-exitant disasters mentioned in the question.
