Question:

Why does Bill O'Reilly rail against Big Oil?

Is it part of his trick of adopting a handful of pet liberal positions to counter the well-founded claim that he is an extremely conservative, partisan Republican? Does Rupert Murdoch tell O'Reilly to do this every now and then to deflect criticism of media bias?

  1. Who cares?  Give him a M-16 and send him to IRAQ, maybe he can get us more oil and reduce our gas prices.

  2. No, thats how he really feels, i guess. He's not as bad as you think or everyone makes him out to be. People would see that if they would acually watch his show for once insted of turning to place like youtube for a insight. Media likes to move his words around to make him look like a a#@hole, but he not at all.........

  3. Bill O'Reilly isn't a conservative in the way that he is labeled by the Left.  Liberals label EVERYONE who isn't in their camp as a conservative, since they think of themselves as centrists.  The reality is the O'Reilly is closer to center than to the Right.  His only real conservative issues revolve around his religion (Catholic) and protecting children.

He has pet issues he goes after because he is passionate about them.  NBC for one and a judicial system that is lax on child molesters is another.  However, he has been against Big Oil all along.  Although he claims not to support the human made global warming theory (because he doesn't think that the evidence has been presented in an unbiased or untainted manner) he still believes in conservation because it is simply "the right thing to do."

I haven't watched him in a couple months, so I can't speak to his latest vendetta, but chances are, any one other than those solidly in the Conservative camp will have a beef with big oil.

  4. Is there the possibility that some one in the Media has too? Think about it, if there's no stink made who cleans up the c**p? Not that I'm a big O'Reilly fan. Even T. Boone Pickens says it's time for energy independence. Did you know there are 400,000 capped oil wells in the US?

  5. F-it, we'll do it live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Though you have probably heard this before and don't believe it ............Mr O'Reilly is an adamant conservative , registered Independent voter.

So he feels he can tell everyone whatever he believes as he is on TV , has a large following  and has the right to free speech like anyone else.
