Why does Brazil's soccer teams have to cover their logo?

If you are watching the olympics, you will see that the mens and womens teams from Brazil have thier logos covered on the front of the shirt. While the other countries have their logos exposed. Why?

  1. they are not allowed to advertise any product...in this case its nuts..!


  2. Because that sports equipment maker does not sponsor them. Their sponsor probably wants them to hide the name. All brazilian soccer teams are sponsored by someone not necessarily a sports equipment maker. They're like walking commercials.

    national crests are not allowed, only the olympic logo is suppose to be used

    all others that used their national crest are subject to fines

    U.S. probably removed all patches as a good faith gesture to abide by the IOC, NOT Chinese, ruling
