  1. That's why the Republican party is in such dog doo, Bush turned it into a clone of the far left wing of the Democratic party.

  2. Because he's definitely not a liberal.  He's a corporatist and fascist.  Please understand the difference.  Bush is not a liberal in any sense of the word.  My god, even Jimmy Carter had a balanced budget, lowered spending and no deficits.  It was Reagan and Bush Sr. who spent like a madman with a wallet full of credit cards and ran up the national debt to billions during his time. The borrowed and spent more during peacetime than FDR did during war time.  Reagan was no liberal either.  How the right wing got this kind of propaganda c**p going about liberals being big spenders is just amazing to me since time has shown that it is the conservative presidents that have gotten this country into economic trouble time and again ever since before Hoover even.

  3. The single, largest item in the federal budget is----entitlements. This is spending mandated by law, over which Bush has absolutely no control.

  4. To benefit his corporate buddies. He never was a conservative. He is just an opportunist that hoodwinked a lot of voters.

  5. Because he's a neo-con.Not a conservative.

The definition of a neo-con is someone who is liberal but turned conservative, but they still like big government and spending

  6. If things don't make sense to you, then maybe you should reexamine your assumptions. Bush doesn't spend like a liberal. He spends like a typical borrow and spend Republican. In particular Bush spends money to subsidize businesses and the rich; all based on the theory that what is good for business is  inherently good for America. Liberals are willing to spend money to help the poor and build the infra structure of the country to strengthen the middle class.

Don't confuse today's typical Republican leaders with  fiscal conservatives. Republican's don't think a balanced budget matters. They pay lip service to it because a segment of the party believes that a balanced budget would be a good idea; but when it comes down to it,  they spend money at a rate that would make Democrats blush. See the numbers below taken from the federal government's web site in the link.

    Increases in the national debt

    Reagan

    1981- $ 994.8 billion

    1989- $2,867.8 billion

    8 year increase $1,873 billion

    George HW Bush

    1989 $2,867.8 billion

    1993 $4,351.0 billion

    4 year increase $1,483.2 billion-

    George W. Bush.

    2001 $5,769.9 billion

    2008 $9,575.8 billion (gov est.)

    8 yr. increase $3,805.9 billion -

  7. Because that is what the Republican party is founded on.

If you keep the country in debt you have an excuse NOT to support social programs, AND you keep foreign governments at bay since you owe them money and they want to be repaid.

That philosophy began clear back with Alexander Hamilton. Read the Federalist papers.

Notice that Republicans always end overspending and getting the country deeply in debt. It,s their M.O.

  8. How can you even compare a liberal with the likes of President Bush who stole like a thief and spent like a 100 trillion dollars lottery winner with no spending cap...

  9. Not his money.

  10. Hmm, did you think of this all by your little self or did you, I dont know, look at this?  http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

War is expensive. Learn that. Can you put a price on life? Or is is however much an abortion is?

Now Bush did in fact do very poorly in spending, I can agree. But some of it was necessary, and both candidates tax cuts are not going to help. Both lead to over 1 trillion in additional debt.

  11. You kidding?

Bush has the second highest spending total of all Presidents.  Number 3 was Ronald Reagan.  Number 1 was Richard Nixon.

The three highest spenders in the Presidency were all Republicans.  Bush spends money like a Republican and not a Liberal; and sure as h*ll not like a Conservative.

  12. He doesn't spend like a liberal.

    He spends like a Reagan.

"Reagan proved that deficits don't matter. " -- Vice President R. Bruce "d**k" Cheney

  13. This is why he has a 30% approval rating.  He appeals to neither right or left, because he can't except the good liberal ideas, but at the same time can't make any good right wing decisions either.

  14. Because he is a corporatist, not a conservative.  The entire purpose of his administration was to redistribute wealth from the middle class to the his "base," the very rich.  And he has succeeded quite nicely.

  15. Because someone has to keep us safe from all the brown terrorists!

  16. Because he is a neocon.

    The worst of both parties!

Thankfully, McCain is dedicated to NOT starting more & more programs!

  17. Because he is a thief. He's not a conservative and he's not a Christian, or at least not a very devout Christian. Everything he ever said or did was to get elected to create a pipeline from the coffers of the USA to the pockets of his friends in the defense industry.
