Why does CBS's the Insider and Entertainment Tonight treat the important stories as secondary news?

For example, If President Bush were to die, this is what they would say:

"Today is a sad day in America due to the untimely death of President Bush. More on that in a second, but first our top story; Miley Cyrus was spotted posing for Maxim Magazine wearing nothing but a towel."

  4. All Insider and Entertainment Tonight stories are just that .....entertainment stories.  They are for those who are hooked on celebrity news and to keep everyone glued to the tube about Miley and the Pitt twins and so on.    They are not meant to be top news  programs.
