  1. are u kidding???

They Tax the heck out of you and make you refine you gas to specification that release less emissions for the non-existent human made global warming.

  2. You think that's bad.  I live within 5 miles of 3 different oil refineries (in northern California) and we pay what you pay!

I heard on the news that we pay more in California because of the extra refining that is required for our gas to limit emissions and smog.  In addition, we pay close to 50 cents a gallon just for taxes.

  3. Fix the ailing economy in the wrong way

  4. Taxes!  You gotta love your state politicians!

  5. California requires a special blend of gas that is less polluting than what the rest of the nation uses.  Also, demand is much higher (LA is the country's auto capital).

  6. Illinois has the very same thing.

  7. Because California attracts wealthy people, and almost everything costs more here.  Annoying, I know.  We need to boycott Exxon/ Mobil so that they will be forced to lower their prices, and the other gas companies should follow after that.

  8. supply and demand, population density. this is all so self explanatory

  9. supply and demand - cali has more drivers on the road

    taxes.
