Why does China lie so much?

Like with what just happened in the women's gymnastics, the 10 year old looking girls, and the little girl who was lip syncing at the opening ceremony because the real singer wasn't cute enough.

Is it because they're communist? Do they want to look good or something?

I'm not 100% sure why China is lieing. I know about the Gymnastics, situation. But, I still don't get 100% why they are lieing or they aren't lieing.

because they have to be better than everyone else, but that comes with making themselves look bad.  i am done with these olympics.  They are just a bunch if headaches.

The Communist have a long history of not being honest with themselves let alone anyone else. This is why I do not understand the infatuation with this form of government by so many. In my humble opinion they are trying to make their Communistic government look no different than any other form of government. Do not fool yourself the people of that country are repressed. Remember the government used tanks to repress marchers not to many years ago.

Everyone is picking on China at the moment but what do you think would happen in another country?  

Western countries would not allow a so called "ugly girl" to sing.  It is human nature to reward the good looking and punish the not so good looking.

Is it because they are communist? Well they are secretive but that is their right as a nation even if it involves lieing. All nations lie, even the US - the so called "land of the free"

If China let the not so good looking girl sing. The western countries would find fault too, so you can't really blame them for trying to look good for the world.

I think the Chinese are just obsessed with having the best Olympics ever.  They are willing to do anything to achieve their goal...it doesn't matter who they hurt in the process.

Every country lies, and it's not because they're communist.  Communism does not translate into lying.

Imagine if China put an unattractive girl out to sing.  People would criticize that too.  Do you know how many American blogs and forums would be ranting about how ugly the girl was, or whatever.  China wanted to do its best to impress.

Do you realize in America, that none of the most popular singers are unattractive?  They might not be beautiful, but none of them are ugly.  That's because America is shallow too, and if one singer is better looking than the other, they will pick the prettier one.  I'm not defending what China did.  I think it's wrong.  But you can't blame China and expect that nobody else does it.

They cheat in the women's gymnastics because of the intense training. I was watching one of the specials that says that at age 3 they are tested for flexibility. If they pass then they train until the are "16" to be in the olympics. Also it is proven that they not only look younger than 16 but also that they really are only 12 years old. In previous gymnastic events they were listed as ages as young as 12. But because they created "legal documents" (fake passports) we have to believe that they are old enough.

To get back to answering your question about the gymnastics, with the intense training they do from age 3 they want to guarantee that they get rewarded for the work. I guess the olympics are no longer about having fun for the enjoyment of the sport but now it is only about winning at all costs. Hope this helps!

You could have put more detail into your question. Every country lies, everyday. Most people who talks to other people daily, lie daily. So why does the U.S. lie so much?

Just because they look ten, doesn't mean they are. Just because a person in your class looks your age, doesn't mean he/she is.

Just because the real singer didn't sing, doesn't mean she wasn't cute enough and that is why they didn't let her sing. She could have been doing something else, because even though the olympics are running, that doesn't mean the entire world stops, she could be writing new songs or she didn't even know that they were going to use her song in the olympics.
