I mean the guy got a no hitter last year but he hasn't won since May. I feel bad for the guy. I think he doesn't get any run support from the offense.

  1. lol he sucks the no hitter was a fluke

  2. In his mind he is better than he really is. I think that the no-no came to early in his career, he was over confident and mentally it has affected him. You need to remember he is only 24 years old, and still has a lot to learn about pitching in the big leagues. The kid has some nice pitches such as his curve and change up, but he needs to learn to throw his fastball with more confidence and have faith in his catcher Jason Varitek. The kid has great potential, why else would his name be the first one mentioned when the Sox are in trade talks with any team?! As far as run support goes, the Sox are struggling to put runs on the board, but that will change, as the season winds down the bats should heat up.

  3. Its all about location and pitch selection.

  4. he sucks now and he has to much of a scouting report

  5. Ok, The guy pitched a no-no. We all know that. But guess what? One game vs the measly O's does not make a good pitcher. Im not saying that he is bad but that he has lost the stuff he had. Its not the same, the guy pitched a No hitter his first game! Talk about setting high standards. He is not gonna be able to match that anytime soon.

  6. Horrible ERA

  7. i feel bad for this kid, because expectations had been set way too high for him after he had that no-hitter last year...he wasn't as good as that game but people started making him out to be the next nolan ryan and that wasn't good for his psyche...as a result he has struggled under undue pressure, and he's not pitching the way he is capable

  8. The truth is that he was throwing too much offspeed pitches and not sticking to placing his fastball. I think they corrected and its just a matter of getting his confidence back. It won't be long.

  9. Has no confidence in his pitches right now. Plus, when you throw a no-hitter in one of your first starts as a Major league pitcher, expectations are going to be very large for you and that could be getting to him

  10. Scouting report. Now teams know what he has.

  11. His ERA is pretty high. Even with run support his games would be close because of that. He is the Red Sox' version of Ian Kennedy. The organizations think those guys will be good but they haven't been able to live up to expectations.

  12. He is not consistent with his pitch selection and location and when a pitcher at the MLB level has these kinds of problems MLB hitters are going to take advantage of it.

  13. alcoholism?

  14. Well, averaging 5 innings a start and having a 5.94 ERA doesn't help.
