Question:

Why does Comcast HD signal fade in and out?

I have Comcast HD, hooked up to an HD television with an HD box. Everything was working perfectly for months. Then earlier today I rearranged my living room and the TV is now hooked up on the opposite side of the room. Everything is hooked up properly, but now when I watch HD channels the signal fades in and out. It happens for a split second every minute or two. What happens is that the screen fades to black as if the HD chord was unplugged and it says "HDMI - no signal detected," and then it goes back to normal as if the chord was plugged back in again. I checked the connections and all of the wires are securely attached in all places. Any idea why it would be doing this? I tried watching on the standard (non-HD) connection and it worked fine for about a half hour without fading in and out.

  1. Try unplugging the cable box, counting to 10 and plugging it back in.  It's really similar to a computer and sometimes they just need to be rebooted.
