Why does Danica Patrick get so much press?

ESPN just talked about her not winning rather than Scott Dixon winning. Personally, she lost all credibility as a serious driver with me when she did the "cheescake, old-time garage tool calendar type" photo shoot. Does anyone have any idea if she will ever mature as a driver?

first and foremost, let me tell you something...

i am not an avid fan of danica.

but i must give her props. shes good for the sport and attracts many. i watched exactly what youre talking about and feel that they gave dixon props for his win.

as far as her seriousness goes.... her face says it all. you can see the determination and "seriousness" in her eyes!! Her passion for the sport is evident.

She gets so much press because she is good for public relations. She's young and pretty and she's not a bad driver.

Now, I just stated the facts. I don't like it. She has been in the IRL for what, 4 years now? And she's only won one race. Even before that win, she was treated as a superstar.

I say let her get some more wins under her belt and THEN and only THEN should she be considered a star of IRL racing!

She is a female in the most male dominated sport that there is, other than bull riding. She has fantastic appeal and has been a real attraction for a sport that has been begging for a big draw for some time.

If she has lost credibility with you then I suggest that you strap your a$$ into an Indy car and do 200MPH for a few laps. Tell us what you think about credibility when you are done cleaning the excrement out of your shorts.

ESPN talked about her losing her opportunity as there was certainly some drama about it. Dixon got his props, as winner, before anyone on ESPN said anything about Patrick.

Before you start giving someone flack about maturing as a driver may I suggest that you mature as a fan first.

Because she is fine as h**l.  I would much rather watch ESPN talking about her than about some dude who races in a series I only watch to see Danica.  I am not saying that the other drivers are not talented  220 around a track is insane but the  IRL just doesn't do it for me. If/when she moves to NASCAR they will lose a viewer.

She is the draw. It does get old. I do not think she will ever mature as she is too much like her father. They make sure he is no where near the pits during a race. What is really sad is they didn't even mention Milka Duno ( I know she isn't that good) who has improved from last year. They had a little bit of info about Sarah Fisher.
