Why does ESPN fawn over the Brett Favre saga and run it 24/7-isn't time for real sports journalism?

  1. what the h**l are you talking about? Yes at first it was all over ESPN now they barely say anything about it. You know why they talk about it? Because wether you like it or not, this is pretty big news in sports.

EDIT* Well if what your saying is true...Then they "devoted" 20 mins to the steelers training camp. Maybe that was too long. How about that?

  2. He's one of the greatest Quarterbacks to ever play and  ppl have been wondering about him retiring for the last couple of seasons and now that he finally did it was the end of a legacy but when he decided to come back they did it for ratings and drama that was gonna come along with this.

  3. It was TENNNNNNNNNN THOUSAND times worse when Michael Jordan came back but nobody was all up in arms about that for some reason. I dont understand it?  They even made tv commercials about Jordan coming back. I couldnt take it!  Im not a Favre fan, just makin a point is all.

  4. It is because of how high of a pedestal Farve has been put on and the caliber of player he is. It is the same as what any other media does with any high profile celebrity.

  5. he made his bones beating sub-par teams.....bought..i mean got 1superbowl ring and blew a couple chances at others.....forget about him..

  6. My take on the Brett favre saga...

  7. it is the biggest story in this so-called "down" time in sports. from the looks of it theres alot of people talking about it on yahoo answers too, yourself included.

  8. beacuse there are more sports to cover and Brett Fave is like this ever year at this time

  9. They've all found that it's big business to report trouble. Seems like sports these days is about crime that the owners, refs, coaches and players have commited. Sports is just the excuse for them to get to this stuff. Been a big Cowboys fan and Mavs fan forever. Now I'm sick of both. TO and his antics ruined it for me. And now a lots coming out about ref cheating, which I've suspected in basketball for a long time. I watch real sports on dvd of the very old superbowls.

  10. Not much else going on in sports right now.  Baseball is the only big thing and they can report about that on Baseball Tonight.

When the Olympics start, you'll hear less about Favre.

  11. Because he's a sports celebrity (and ready to become a superstar now that he's in NYC) and celebrity news SELLS!

  12. They do that for a lot of big-name stars. If something happens to them that's dramatic, ESPN covers them non-stop. It annoys the living **** outta me.

  13. Some people actually care about what's going on. If you don't care about it, then don't listen to it.

  14. I agree! I support brett favre but espn needs to start covering other things.

  15. Because they have a huge crush on him.

Brett Favre could get away with anything because he's been media's darling for so long.
