Why does England not do away with the Royals? There will never be Monarchy? So why have it at all?

Britain is known world wide for the Royals. But otherwise very well known for it's rich history and cultural affairs. So why not do away with the Royals prompto? I think they ought to step out of Buckingham Palace and live a normal live as citizens? What do you all think?

It's a good idea but they have made sure that they are too deeply embedded in British society

The present lot have German ancestry so it's a bit rich the armed forces have to pledge personal allegiance to the queen in the same way the german army had to pledge personal allegiance to Hitler.

This means that any opposition is treason.

Prince Charles and morals? This creature slept with another man's wife before,during and after his own marriage and had his mistress attend his wedding where she would be seen by his new wife. What a twisted mind.

That's a load of c**p! 'There will never be a Monarchy'? What do we have now then? The Royals are a national institution and far better than a President. Why should they step down anyway? Of course some of our tax goes towards them, but this is paid back and more by their own incomes

That would be horrible . The monarchy of England has existed for thousands of years. They are not going to get rid of it.

The Royal Family is a symbol of the nation.  It may not be a legislative body anymore, but they are supposed to be role models, guides for the people on how to act and live, and they hold the country together morally during times of great trouble and despair.

America could use something like that, instead of its sea of tawdry celebrities.
