Why does European milk taste different than American milk?

European milk is richer and has more flavor. Why?

  1. All works down to the types of food they eat. Europeans (esp. British) cows eat green grass


  2. European women eat food with less additives.

  3. Plus they are pasteurized at a higher temperature than US milk products as they use them quicker and there cooler are set lower, I am a former chef and travel to the UK regularly, and there milk is richer as the one person said because they are pasture raised and not feed the silage (hay/grain mix) like North America dairy cows, the land is not worked the same, and weeds there are not a problem.

    Go by a field of cows in Canada and the US and you will see certain patches were the cows have now chewed down the ground, bitter weeds and prickly thorny plants are not only hard on the mouths they cause gas and indigestion.
