Question:

Why does Fox News continue to promote itself as 'fair and balanced' when it's glaringly obviously not?

It's common knowledge fox news is an arm of the Republican party so couldn't be unbiased if it tried. However, it's hilarious to watch as foreign observer.

  1. I thought about that exact question for a long time and finally came up with this reason.

After watching ABD, CBS, MSNBC, CNN and other mega-stations and listening to the regular radio stations along with reading all of the big named media, FOX NEWS does sound like a Republican slanted news source.  However, ALL of the aforementioned big media, preach a liberal agenda. They support liberal political candidates (all Democrats), they support liberal lifestyles (g*y marriages and abortions), they support the liberal thought process about how to run this country (higher taxes, government give-away projects) and they support a liberal way to protect this country (talk with fanatics).

So, whenever you hear a more balanced approach to these subjects, they immediately sound like they are coming from a right winged source.  This is only because they are presenting sides of issues ALL of the other media you are bombarded with won’t mention and never will.

Just one example, when the war effort started to show a positive turnaround, no one but FOX reported on it.  Is that a Republican agenda or is it news that the U.S. public should be aware of.  Just because some news favors one or the other political party, that doesn’t mean the news source is in the tank to either side.

The job of news agencies is to report fair, balanced and non-biased events of the world.  FOX is the only network that gave ALL candidates the opportunity to appear without a scripted list of questions.  If you had listened to any of them, you would have seen what “fair and balanced” really meant.

  2. Its the common hack that says that.  If having James Carville and Carl Rove on the same roundtable is so offensive go listen to Pacifica or another public-financed news outlet for your marching orders.  Or Yahoo News. I prefer balance.

  3. Yea it reminds me of all the Liberal stations they couldn't be unbiased if they try either.  What difference does it make, Fox news leans to the right all the other stations lean to the left but just remember there is only one Fox News but many more biased Liberal stations.  If you don't like Fox News then turn the stations to you Liberal left and as biased as you can get.

  4. Only a liberal would make such a statement. Fox news reports the reality of things without the communist bias that all the others have. Conservatism is about facts and truth. Liberalism is all about wishful thinking, fantasy, lies, and nonsense. Of course, somebody who is lacking in intelligence would think that Fox news is biased and all the others are not. But, it's the other way around.

  5. You don't have to agree with me, but none of the big news networks are truthful.  Fox is just as bad as CNN ect.  they are ether all one side or the other.  It I watch one I will also watch the other to balance out the stories.  other then that you are wasting your time if your not just looking up the weather.

  6. As long as it is legal to be dishonest they can call themselves fair and balanced.  I had them on last night and i had enough when a guest said that obama would be an unfit president or something like that now I have decided to boycott the station I now have CNN on.  I am tired of the republican rhetoric of Fox news.
