  1. most criminal are not that smart

  2. It doesn't,that's for TV drama's like The Bill etc, even 10yr olds are wise to that one!

  3. Criminals are stupid. If they were smart, they wouldn't be getting caught, now would they?

  4. You're probably not thinking about tv shows when your heart is racing, your mind is racing and you're being interrogated by the police.

  5. thats how it used to be beleive it or not.

they tried it with yours truly a few times (bad cop plays the right b**tard-good cop comes in and says "take no notice of him"-trying to get you to confide in him) but as usual i had nowt to say!

since the PACE regulations come into force in 1984 it doesn't happen so much now and thanks partly to programmes like the bill etc most people are wise to it anyway.

  6. Out of fear, the method thrives on insecurity and the confusion following an arrest which the suspect isn't prepared for.

People have heard mention of the tactic but they have never saw it in action and in the moments of fear and confusion are unable to identify its use.

  7. It works only when victim is unsuspecting./

  8. Because most people fear intimidation, but the smart guys only answer no comment these days.

  9. Good Cop, Bad Cop?  I think you watch too much TV

  10. Some good answers here, and yes, it only works when you're scared. Dont be scared of the police, they are only the middle man and nothing. Its the judge you should be scared of!

Respect is earned and believe me i have none for the police.

  11. They only use it on thick *uckers which covers 90% of the british population

  12. I have had it played once and it took me a while to realize it was happening even though I knew the strategy. Most people are not cool headed like I was, or even sober for that matter. So they open up to the cop that seems on their side.

It is really effective. But not on people who flat out don't trust cops. Then they just get belligerent.

  13. The "victim" is scared and unsuspecting of what could be happening at the time

  14. come on lets face it coppers are thick
