Question:

Why does John McCain's campaign keep using his POW status?

Every time someone attacks him on his flip flops or his voting record, or really any other matter such as his how many houses does he own. His campaign throws in the 5 years as a POW like that will erase everything and make his character off limits. I noticed that his campaign hasn't used the 132 sailors that died on the USS Forrestal due to his wet start antics. Maybe they are using that one for a rainy day. I am a veteran and respect anyones military service to their country, but McCain has used his days as a POW and Cindy's fathers money and status to propel himself into the political arena. A true hero serves and gives sacrifice without regard or reward to oneself.

  1. Because Republicans think that makes a difference so they bring it up all the time.

Yet, if one of the many homeless, scarred Vietnam war POWs gets government assistance to recover he is a dirty lazy liberal.

Soo it seems like POW status only matters when you are rich, just like everything else with republicans.

i know that didn't answer your question... it was just an observation.

  2. Well, he can't run on his record.

  3. McCain has little else to sell to the public.  His proposed policies are devoid of any worthwhile ideas and his basic positions on the issues are now the same as Bush's.

  4. I have not heard this brought up by McCain in several months, at least so I don't think they do use it..

  5. I guess he is a total martyr... god forbid anyone forgets that he was a P.O.W... he'll remind you!

Its become his magic bullet... his answer for everything. Its getting old as h**l and anyone with a brain should not accept that answer any longer.

  6. Why does "barrack Americas" campaign keep using the color of his skin?

  7. You are ignorant. Take a little time to research these things you just throw out to serve your own point. 134 sailors died trying to put out that fire on the Forrestal and McCain sustained injuries to his legs and chest getting out of the flames. You're saying it's his fault he got off the plane before it exploded? You don't think it's has anything to show about his character that he could have been released in his 1st year of captivity but chose to be released in order. Oh, but he was thinking about running for president, huh? He didn't even need to be in Vietnam. I'm sure his father, Admiral McCain could have got him out of service. But, like you say, he was only serving himself when he went through all that. You can not like his policies, but HE IS A HERO!!!!!!!

  8. McCain has nothing to sell otherwise - no thoughts, no ideas, no concepts, no vision.

  9. like I don't use my blackness as a shield? It works every time!

    Love playin the race card!

  10. McCain is begging for the pity vote. Poor little rich POW, cry a river.

  11. Keep it up; Americans flock to him when the cowardly left attacks his war record.

Obama would surrender tomorrow to the Russians given the opportunity.

  12. I honestly haven't heard any campaning using his POW staus has a running point. It is a fact, but it is not why I am voting for him.

  13. It's  all he's got.

  14. well it surely is better than what barrack obama has now isnt it???

if someoen attacks his voting record (which is very attackable btw)........what does he have to fall back on????

oh thats right im sorry..he was a community organizer .....and attended a racist church..

    outstanding!

  15. to guilt people into voting for him.  Although I will not, or ever vote for McCain I do respect his services in the military, but it is getting out of hand with him or his supporters bringing it up way, WAY too much.

  16. Because they are pathetic, they believe his questionable pow status makes him automatically presidential material.  If this was such a major deal - how come it did not help him beat GWB - wasn't McLame an ex-pow during those times, or is this just a card he pulls out when he is desperate?

  17. I too honor his service, but he really needs to start answering the tough questions instead of going back to his POW status as a way to avoid them.  He has used it, along with his campaign folks, way too much.
