  1. Family members, who do not campaign, are left out of the political debate.

  2. It's pretty obvious. He does not want to force his son into the limelight and disrupt his life. This is very important because if his son goes back over to Iraq or Afghanistan, if he has had a lot of publicity that draws attention to him, he becomes an obvious terrorist target for assassination or kidnapping. Not only does that put his son in jeopardy but his unit as well.

I have no doubt that McCain is very proud of his son, he is just acting like a sensible father should.

  3. Probably for the same reason he doesn't talk about his POW experience much and you can see how liberals are desecrating that.  Why would any Republican want to bring family or very personal things to them out to the forefront.  Look what they did to Rudy Giuliani about 9/11, something he was very involved in and is very close in his heart, as it is all of us that experienced it close-up as Giuliani did.  The liberals made a mockery of it.  Low as you go.

  4. his son isnt running for  the vp slot, so why should he? his son is out doing his job. military personnel are not suppossed to get involved in politics unless authorized by the chain of command which does not occur very often. im sure john mccain is doing his best not to drag his son into a political mess.

  5. It's not his place to do so. That is actually the only thing good about the man.

  6. Son people like to keep their family out of the limelight. That is away from an obssessive media that could ruin and affect their lives.
