Why does John Stewart dislike Chris Matthews?

Question

Among other things, John Stewart gave an unflattering interview to Matthews, and called him a "douche" on the latest show.

I'm wondering why Stewart dislikes Matthews in particular. What happened? Matthews is generally quite liberal, which should be a plus with Stewart.

Matthews is a republican, and part of the MSM that is asleep at the wheel for letting Bush get away with everything

I think it's because Matthews is a Washington insider who schmoozes with and fawns all over anyone with power rather than aggressively covering their activities as a free press should be doing in the interests of the people. For Matthews, its all about being part of the game and keeping the same group of elites he's schmoozing with in power.

Maybe it's a clash of styles - Matthews is an irritating liberal while Stewart is a humorous one.
