Why does Josie shoot Matt in the novel Nineteen Minutes? ?

  1. He has abused her in the past.


  2. It does not come straight out and say why, but the book gives enough reasons throughout the story.

    Matt was continually emotionally, physically and sexually abusive to Josie.  I think that once she had the gun in her hand and a way to end it, she just snapped.
