Why does Kyle and Kurt try to compare themselves to Dale Jr?

Question

After Kyle blew his engine he took a bow like Dale Jr. and tried to mimic Dale Jr.

Kurt wanted to have a competition with the Bud car to bring himself exposure last year?

Why if they hate Dale Jr then why do they try to compare themselves with him?

you know..i think it has alot to do with the media...but you got a guy (kyle) who seems to be trying to make a point when it comes to driving against the sports most popular driver....

lets' see - kurt has won the same number of cup races as junior, and did so in 35 fewer races.  dale has two busch championships; kurt has an iroc title, and, oh yeah, a nextel cup.  and the challenge was not from kurt to dale, but from kurt's sponsor (miller lite) to dale's old sponsor (bud) - whoever finished lower in the points overall would have had to run a race the next year with the other's sponsor on his car.  

and kyle, well, there's no comparison. kyle has set more records in his short career than junior will set in his whole life. not only has he been the youngest driver to win cup and truck series races, but he also holds similar records at a number of tracks as the youngest winner ever there.  further, kyle has managed to win in all three major series four years in a row.  and this year, he's had more than one win in all three of the series, and we're not even 1/3 of the way through the season yet.  only two other drivers have ever won in all three series in a year, and each of them have only done it once.

as for kyle "mimicking" junior's bow, i find it interesting that those who think he copied junior think that junior's bow was sincere, but kyle's are all sarcastic.  you can't have it both ways. moreover, dale took a bow after yet another DNF - kyle generally bows after every WIN.

the only place junior truly outshines those two is in the number of "most popular driver" awards he has won.  and that is the answer to your last question...miller lite was trying to get more exposure by proposing the competition with the sports most popular driver, and his sponsor, who happened to be another beer company. and, bottom line, it's a good thing the "contest" never took place - junior and bud would have lost, and pretty badly too.

There is no comparrison in my mind. Kyle is so much more talented than JR. ever could be, and I don't think Kurt has ever tried to compare himself. Dale JR. can not compare himself to Kurt until he wins a championship, and he can not compare himself to Kyle until he proves he has some talent behind the wheel.

This is a loaded question with no right or wrong answer,but open for opinion.

The Busch Brothers ,Junior are but a few of the drivers that mimic each other.

This is a way of flattery to the driver whom they are mimicing.

I have my opinion and my thoughts,but I keep them to myself because only certain fans would understand where I come from.

All 3 are good drivers with large fan base,but sometimes the fans are more out of controll than the drivers.

GIVE IT UP.  Dale is a good driver, he wouldn't be in Cup if he weren't.  The fact is Kyle is dominating everything right now and it's not only you Jr fans that are jealous.  Every fan wishes their driver was on the roll that he's on now.

there is no comparison. Jr has been racin longer than both of them. Sooner or later Dale jr will winn a race, but atleast he's gettin top 5's n 10's. He's getttin the points n thats what i like to see. he got the Bud shootout n JR done good in the allstars.

Oh, great, another Jr. fan.  I personally like Jr. but I don't know why you think they are trying to compare themselves to him.  They are just getting a kick out of inciting the crowd which is good for the sport.

There is not mistaking it, Kykle is a good driver, he has talent, but is putting it to waste, his attitude is catching up with him, and he is even loosing fans due it, he will walk away from a kid wanting his autograph and turn his back on them, and that is plain rude and unprofessional.

now, it you call that a champion, which he is not a Cup champion yet, and I dont think he will be ever.....

he bows and tries to imitate Jr, cause he wishes he could be like him, but he should accept who he is, just change his attitude and race, and not try to put everyone out of the race to win, he is gonna end up killing someone  he even said, I will wreck anyone to win a race....and he has done this very thing, but back fired, he did not win,

Jr Nation is not jealous of Kyle and the drivers do not hate each other, dislike maybe,  but hate is too strong a word to use.

Kyle wants to be like Jr, but he has his own style and should stick to it, he would go alot further if he did.

Jr, has not won a race in a long time, so what, other drivers are not winning like they use to either.

Jr will win again, and at least he is staying in the top 10 and top 5 every race, and that says something for his drinving ability.....

and Kurt needs not try to compare himself to Jr, he is not even close to Jr's league....

In kyles case, I think, he thinks he's a better driver than  Dale Jr.. That remains to be seen as Jr. has many more starts and is ten years older. I don't know about Kurt. This whole thing is Media driven!!! How do you even know that these drivers dislike each other personally? This whole Jr. vs Kyle thing is making both of them and Nascar a lot of money!!
