Why does Liverpool perform bad in the epl and do very well in the champions league?

i really want to know what is the reason for this. half way in the season, they are out of the race, but in the champions league they go a good distance...what could be the reason?

It's called inconsistency.  It's part of Rafa's managerial style to confuse the players and fans.  It's working well.

Benitez's style of play suits playing against European Teams. And anyway, the Champions League is the major competition a team would like to win and victorious Liverpool have won in 5 times and crappy Utd have only won it three times but rubbish Chelsea and a******s haven't even won it. O yeh and Liverpool have won the most premier league so gutted Man U fans, ure team is nothing short of shite.

Cos Rafa is more familiar with the CL style of football than the fast and furious style of the premiership.

Would you call the other nights performance against Standard Liege in the champions league good ? They were lucky , and theres your answer . Luck plays a big part in it , whereas a nine month league campaign shows them up for what they really are , c**p.

There's only one reasonable explanation! The quality of the Premiership is just too low for Liverpool so their players become bored and drop points due to a lack of motivation and focus. However in the Champions League there's actually some competition for them so they rise to the challenge!

because liverpools team is more fitted better to play against foreign teams whereas english teams are at the same pace as liverpool soo it doesnt work as well

They don't do especially well in the Champions League. They do well, and better than they do in the Premiership, but its going to be one or the other. Arsenal perform much better in the Premiership, but not the UCL.
