  1. I think he would be a great owner. I could just imagine: Marc Cuban sitting behind the plate, in the Cubs jersey, screaming at the umpire for making a bad call. He's an owner-fan type of owner.

  2. Just look at what he did for the Dallas Mavericks.

  3. To win the World Series.

  4. Cuban, though he would have to pay essentially all the money that my town has in it, would get a lot of benefits of owning a team like the Cubs. Also, Cuban can get rights to the TV broadcasts of the Cubs when they're on WGN or whatever they're on. He'd get a lot of money by buying the franchise. More than he'd get from the Mavs

  5. 1.  He can afford it

    2.  He knows the team, win or lose, will make money

    3.  If they do win a world series when he is owner, he will be looked upon as the biggest sports hero in Chicago history.*

Yes, he would be a great owner.

    *unless they win this year

  6. I think if he buys the team, they'll have a run like the Yankees and Braves just had. He'll make them winners.

  7. I hope he does because then we would have a lot of money to give out

plus he does want them and hes one of the 3 finalists for the job

I think hed be a good owner

  8. Same reason as anyone would want to buy them, I guess.  He's not the only one bidding.

He's a Cubs fan.  He thinks he can make money (or at least break even since he really doesn't need the cash).  And he doesn't seem to mind the attention. ;)

Yeah, he's loud and opinionated.  He rubs people the wrong way, sometimes.  But he loves his players and they tend to love him back.

And if you're a Cubs fan, haven't there been bad calls by the umps that drove you crazy?  Wouldn't you have loved to have someone like Cuban to openly rag on them on your behalf? ;)

  9. Why does Cuban want to buy the Cubs?

1- Because they sell out every year regardless of record.

2- They are one of Baseball's historic franchises.

3- He is getting a bunch of other goodies in the package (Wrigley, 1/4th of Comcast Sports Network, etc)

4- Cause he got the money.

Would it be good for the Cubbies?  I don't know.  If he out spends Steinbrenner,  then I'll be a happy man laughing my azz off.  Hopefully he is also smarter than Steinbrenner and has a quality GM to evaluate talent and put together a complete team.

By The Way- I believe he is actually a Pirates fan.

  10. CUBan? CUBs?

and the other letters are ans which stands for answer.

which mean he thinks that he's the answer to the Cub's world series drought

  11. He's a Cubs fan and wants to get them to a World Series...Before he bought the Mavericks they sucked and since he's been there, they've been in the playoffs just about every season,so he's obviously not a bad owner.

  12. Cuban is a poision pill !  If he did buy the team , I would hate the cubbies forever .
