  1. Mary I didn't kill her sis (half-sis) for the throne.

Her dad (King Henry the sumthing) wanted a divorce, which is sorta against Roman Catholic churches so he started his own religion and got his divorce and married sum1 else and Elizabeth I was born.

Mary I got mad and when she became queen, she killed every1 who wasn't Roman Catholic and imprisoned her sister.

  2. When Mary assumed the throne, she denounced the Protestant religion of her brother, making England Catholic. Mary I was already intolerant and a steadfast Catholic, so she killed many Protestants living in England to purify the nation.

  3. She was the daughter of Catherine of Aragon, Henry VIII's first wife and, when she became queen following the death of Jane Seymour's son Edward VI, she attempted to re-establish the Catholic church in England.  (Henry VIII had separated from Rome due to his divorcing Catherine in order to marry Anne Boleyn and had established the Protestant church in England.)  Mary I exterminated many of the Protestant supporters of her father, thereby acquiring the derogatory title of "Bloody Mary".

  4. She killed MANY Protestants and anyone who wasn't Catholic.

  5. Because she killed her sister for the throne.

  6. She killed hundreds of Protestants during her reign as queen.

  7. ?She drink vodka and tomatoes juice?

    You got the history lesson

  8. Mary I of England was nicknamed "Bloody Mary" because she prosecuted over 300 Protestant followers during her short Catholic rule. She had many of her people executed and burned at the stake who refused to convert back to the Roman Catholic faith.

  9. Becaue her stepsister had her head chopped off so that she couldn't rule the throne.

  10. Because she too many people killed

  11. She is known as Bloody Mary because during the latter part of her short reign, 1553 to 1558, there were a number of Protestant church leaders executed. There was also an effort on her part to roll back the changes in the English church to make it once again a part of the Roman Catholic church and give the pope supremecy again. But those changes never really took, and the number of people killed because of their adherence to the Church of England was relatively small. Part of Mary's bloody reputation undoubtedly comes from Foxe's Book of Martyrs which detailed the events of her reign in a pretty hysterical fashion. She had her share of deaths on her hands but she was mild compared to her father Henry VIII. Her sister Elizabeth I is considered one of England's great monarchs and she is responsible for a great many more deaths, even factoring in the disparity between the lengths of their reigns.
