Question:

Why does McCain constantly throw his POW past in our faces? Does he want America to apologize?

He should be grateful. If he never became a POW, he would have been a failure as a bomber pilot, and never would have become a Senator since he played the POW card to get elected in the first place.

  1. Please read a book or something, it will make you smarter.

  2. He thinks a lot of people will be influenced by it and will therefore vote for him.  Other people were also POWs but it is his major claim to fame.  In addition, his proposed policies for the country are not actually worth dwelling on.

  3. I just think Obama should be bragging about his acts of heroism as a community organizer.  Or the bravery of asking a terrorist for contributions.  Or the courage to get that sweet deal from his buddy, Rezko.

  4. I'll answer your question with a question - does he?  Can you show some documentation that McCain or his approved campaign does that?

I know that it is an issue that is brought up by his supporters and unauthorized strategists, but my take is that John McCain himself is pretty modest about his POW past, and is reluctant to make it a campaign issue.

Please don't misunderstand this question with a "retort" - I'm only asking you to back up your claim so I can understand.

Compare that to the major campaign issue that John Kerry made of HIS experience in Vietnam (see links below), and please, please, offer me some factual data - video, speeches, platforms, ANYTHING that compares, and I will offer a better answer to this question.

Regarding your statement that he "never would have become a

Senator since he played the POW card", can you enlighten us as to the issues of the senate race, and exactly how he played that POW card to get elected?

I just Googled a lot of McCain links and was unable to find the information, mostly because of the huge amount of current info about McCain and Palin - but you have me intensely curious.  What were the issues when he first ran?  What were his platforms?  Do you have context of his speeches, or transcripts of his position papers?  Can you show any specific instances where he used the POW "card" to his advantage to gain election?

Again - I am not denying your position, I'm only stating that, in my ignorance, I have been unable to find any data to back it up. Since you have made the statements, I look to you for the research.

I think that in the year 2008 it is very, very important for the American Voter to base our awesome and singular responsibility on fact, not talking points, conjecture or headlines.  If you have information that we should know about, please share it with us.

  5. Wow, you think that those 5 1.2 years didn't shape him for what he is today? I am certain that anyone who was a POW would tell you that it changed their life, forever.

  6. At least he has a history to bring up.

  7. McCain does this because he thinks that this will get him votes.  He thinks that Americans will somehow translate him into a wonderful President since he was a POW.  The problem is it doesn't.  Yes, he served our country and it was unfortunate that happened to him, but by no means that does that make him better qualified for the job.

If McCain truly was the right choice he would be letting us know about his successful track record in politics, but I don't remember him going on and on about that... maybe because he is still digging for something????

All I know is he is digging a hole.

  8. Get a life - you got nothing better to do than bash a war veteran?

  9. People here in America have been conditioned to honor military veterans regardless of what they did or how they did it.  Many people say that they protect our freedom.  Honestly, unless the people you are defending my freedom from have any interest in taking my freedom, then you're just redefining it.

Not to say that being in the military isn't a good thing, but still, don't add stuff to it that isn't really there.

  10. You liberals are getting scared-aren't you?

  11. s***w you. he is proud of what he has been threw what have you done for our country but b***h? i am grateful for men and women like him. but nothing like you

  12. I love cowards like you

Let me guess, your military experience consists of playing with G.I. Joes

    Your mother failed

The load that created you was meant to be swallowed

  13. You liberals bring up him being a POW more then he does.

  14. I rather have his proven track record than empty promises from someone that doesn't have a proven track record to look upon.

ANYONE CAN MAKE PROMISES, EVEN MY 4YR SON.

  15. Because that was his only qualification for the Senate.
