Why does Michael Phelps get all the attention when Jason Levak was the key to them winning the 400 relay?

I like Michael Phelps but they need to give credit where it's do.

It's not like he is getting gold in all individual events. They need to give credit where it's due and stop overshadowing everyone else.

I hadn't realised that Lezak beat Bernard who is/was the 100m world record holder. He came from 0.59 behind to beat him home.

He should be getting a huge amount of credit and I'm sure that Phelps knows it even if no one else does.

Maybe he'll give him a million for helping him out.

Because the main question here is whether or not Phelps will get 8 gold medals.  Every gold he gets is one closer to breaking Spitz's record of 7 golds in one Olympics.  Which is huge.  

But I do agree that Levak should have gotten WAY more credit for his amazing finish.

apparently its because  he's going to break an all-time world record which will make the US very proud and so NBC has stuck to him-which isn;t fair to the other swimmers especially, Jason Levak....i hear Jason saved the team and saved 'mighty phelps' too

Because Mikey is a talented swimmer and he's already grabbed so many gold medals and world records in just a few days. But you are right though and i see your point. It's annoying when the famous one gets the credit when somebody else deserved it. But many people assume that since Michael was part of the team, he was the one who contributed to their win and the gold medal for the relay.

I think Jason Lezak is amazing. He went in with the team behind the French and he was able to catch up. That's very difficult to do swimming against other olympians. He overtook Alain Bernard of all people. Oh and he's over 30. Gotta be pure will power. Wow.

Phelps get the attention because he is trying to break the record of getting the most gold medals i think and many people want to know if he will break the record because i hear he is going to retire from the olympics after this
