Why does Mozilla Firefox no longer remember my passwords?

On my home desktop PC, I did not have to enter user name and password every single time I went to each web site. Then I goofed around with the setting under Security and Privacy. I thought I went back and reset the settings appropriately, but it does not remember passwords. Even thought it's set to.

If you go under "tools" to "options" and in the "security" tab see if the first square under "Passwords" is checked, maybe that may be it.
