Why does New Jersey require 64 credits for a Bachelor's rather than 60?

If anyone knows why give me some insight, it's ridiculous that my scholorship will pay for 60 credits, meaning I will have to take summer classes and pay for them myself. I've lived here all my life and this is just another topping on the cake.

  1. Most places require twice that.  My last two schools required somewhere between 120 and 124.  64 sounds more like an associates degree to me.
