  3. We don't.  We believe that someone should be able to choose whether or not they carry a baby to term, for whatever reason.  Just because I don't want an abortion, doesn't mean I have to right to tell someone else they can't.

  11. Because stem cell research that could find cures for down syndrome is limited. Too bad we can't get cures for disease....wouldn't that itself limit abortion?

  13. Democrats don't actually believe that abortion is the answer for Down's Syndrome. We believe that if the mother is in ill health or the fetus is in ill health, than it should be the mother's choice to terminate the pregnancy.  It would be dangerous for my own daughter who has health problems to get pregnant. If she made a mistake, I do not want the government making the decision on whether or not to terminate the pregnancy for my child.  My daughter should be the one that decides if she is willing to risk her life to have a baby, or to abort the pregancy to save her own life.  Also some fetuses are not healthy or in such deformity that there is no way the child could lead a normal life. Sometimes when the child is born ill or deformed, it causes a horrible financial and emotional burden on the family. They may have other children that also need their attention.  Secondly, I realize that many women choose to use abortion as a birth control method. I personally believe this isn't the right choice, but the decision should be their own.  Abortion is more of a religious matter than a government matter.  Intelligent women do not want to be treated as objects that are controlled by the government.

  18. It just occurred to me why the republicans like to attack so much. From watching their own convention they attacked obama more than they bragged about the great job bush did implementing standard GOP policies.  They even banned Bush and cheney from the GOP convention.

    It occurred to me republicans attack as much as they did during their convention cause they want to avoid the issues that affect the lives of americans.  They never seem to want to lay out their detailed game plan on solving problems for some reason.

  19. Nobody said that is the solution for downs syndrome.  Where do you get that c**p from, Faux News?  Prevention is the key.  If you are over the age of 40 you simply should not get pregnant.  You people seem to forget that getting pregnant is a choice, there was only ONE Virgin Mary.

    *Yes I do know that a woman can have a downs syndrome child at any age, but the odds go up incredibly as women age.

  21. I'm not saying abortion is the answer, but are you offering a solution? Are you opening your doors for adoption? If not, you have no right to suggest someone else have that baby.

  22. Lies.  There isn't one piece of evidence or sources that can backup what you just claimed in your question.  As far of abortions that are perform annually, you would have have to ask each individual women why they choose to have one.

    I'm sure the answer will be "None of your d**n business."

  23. Actually, why do we think being the mother of a 4 month old child with Downs syndrome is so easy she can be Vice President (and possibly President ) also. She's got a big surprise ahead if she thinks being a mom of a child with that disability is easy. What is she going to do, get hired help? The baby will need her attention always. And plenty of Dems don't like abortion either for your information.

When will ppl get it...being pro-choice does not mean you are pro-abortion.  I for one, would never have one...I think its wrong and I think we need to work on ways of improving s*x education in this country.  But I also think that its too late to go back in time and we must give people the right to choose.
