Why does Obama commerical say that McCain has 7 houses?

Most the 7 are put in his wife name so they aren't John McCain thats why he said he didn't know how many houses he had

They're referring to the fact that he has admitted that he can't keep track of how many houses he has.  It demonstrates how out of touch he is with the average American who's struggling with credit card debt, high gas prices, bad housing market, etc., etc., etc.

Who cares how many houses JM owns.   I would have to assume that JM does not own a house, but he and his wife own 7.  So the question was nonsensical.

Well the estimated count seems to go up all the time.  I think it's actually estimated at between 8 and 11 now.  Married couples ordinarily know how many houses they have between them, and most people I know have one.  He is out of touch with the majority of Americans, who aren't filthy rich.  Besides he started it by talking about Obama's house.  After McCain didn't know how many he had, he topped it by talking about being a POW the next time he was asked and avoiding the question altogether by wrapping himself in the flag.

I wonder why, also. His wife works in real estate and it wouldn't be unusual for him to not be exactly sure how many she owns. He's not a control freak who watches every move she makes, obviously.

It goes to McCain's slam about Obama being elitist.  It's a way of turning McCain's words against him, as well as pointing out McCain's penchant for forgetting things.  It was a 2 for 1 slam.

McCain also made the comment that the middle class is made up of people who make "less than $5 million".  That sounds a little out-of-touch and elitist to me.

He can't attack McCain's time in the military (which Obama doesn't have), or time in the senate (which Obama has little), so that's all he has.

McCain was asked about how he could feel the effects of the falling economy, one of the questions posed was how many house he in fact had and he couldn't remember.  Obama is using this as a campaign ad to make it look like McCain can't truly know what it is like to be a normal American, making him out to be out of touch.
