Question:

Why does Obama like that we pay $4 a gallon for gas???

He doesn't support new drilling or nuclear technology. Is it that he wants the American people to continue to suffer from high energy costs? His argument is that it would only affect us long term. Wouldn't alternative energy also be a long term fix? Of course. McCain supports both. I wouldn't care if we killed every single cariboo if it would mean I paid $1.50 - 2.00 a gallon again....

  1. He doesn't.  A lot of people don't support new drilling or expanded nuclear technology.  There are other options.

    Democrats 2008

  2. Just keep on whimpering!  None of those guys give a big hoot.  You'll be paying eight and ten dollars a gallon for gas and then be wishing you were paying just four and a half dollars again, like in "the good ole days"!

  3. CONTROL over you and me, period.  Same goes for those Politicians who will not let this country retrieve our own resources.

    CONTROL, CONTROL, CONTROL

WAKE UP AMERICA before it actually is too laate.

  4. Higher gas costs actually spur innovation which could eventually lead to cheaper fuels.

  5. Because Obama hates America.

  6. I'm a democrat, and I thought Obama's comment was do dumbest thing to come out of a politicians mouth.  He talked about clean coal mining.  No such thing. Have you seen the after effects of coal mining.  Wish he would have said that while Hillary was still in the running. it shows you how inexperienced Obama really is.

  7. Have you seen the prices for gas over in Europe? We still have the cheapest gas on the planet, stop complaining.

  8. "I wouldn't care if we killed every single cariboo if it would mean I paid $1.50 - 2.00 a gallon again...."

Exactly why Obama should be president.

  9. I see lots of blame on the democrats, for a policy started by two arch conservatives.

In 81, the GOP lead congress, at the request of Reagan, passed the first oil drilling ban in protected areas. Then, Bush Sr, it the request of Jeb, and his GOP friends in Florida, passed an executive order prohibiting off shore drilling in the coastal waters. Add to that our refineries are running at 100% capacity, and that it will take a decade to actually get the new oil into the system, why does the GOP think it will help to drill now? Don;t they know its embarrassing that they refuse to realize the truth, and that CUTTING OIL USE is the ONLY way to lower prices?

Conservatives are hopelessly uneducated and brainwashed on this subject. Allow me to educate you.

1.) Of the top 14 oil and gas producing states, 12 reached their peak production prior to 1972, so no, environmentalism isn't to blame. That's just the nature of non-renewable energy. One of the 2 remaining states is Alaska, which peaked in 1989. The other is California, which peaked in 1985, so it definitely can't be pinned on the environmentalists.

2.) There are over 1800 rigs drilling all over the US today including over 61 in the Gulf of Mexico. Most companies have a multi-year backlog of wells already permitted, there just aren't enough rigs to drill them all at once. Source: American Petroleum Institute rig count: Oil and Gas Journal

3.) The government has approved over 25,000 wells to be drilled on federal lands in the 5-state Rocky Mountain Region of the US. 19,000 of those wells have already been drilled, leaving a backlog of 6,000 wells that can be drilled anytime the oil companies feel like it. This doesn't even include wells on private lands, which are even less restricted.

4.) Jeb and George Bush established a moratorium preventing any drilling rigs within sight of land off the Florida coast. That ban was requested by real estate speculators, not environmentalists.

5.) There have been thousands of permits issued to expand, update, and improve existing refineries since the Clean Air Act went into effect. They could just as easily get permits to build new refineries if they wanted to. The oil companies prefer to expand and modernize existing refineries since it is cheaper than building new ones. 6. 27% of US production currently comes from the Gulf of Mexico and there are 61 rigs drilling there today, so NO, it is NOT off limits, despite what your dim-witted right-wing programmers tell you. Where do conservatives get such silly, uninformed ideas?

  10. Where was Hillary and Obama votes when Bush was trying to get drilling started back 8 years ago. Hillary was voting no and pandering to tree huggers for votes, and Obama with his short time as Senator missed more votes than any other person in Washington.  Personally , I feel some what like you do, except I say we feed the hungry with all that food you want to kill, after all is that not the democrats rave, they want to feed the hungry. One Whale could feed the "village idiot" village in Arkansas. You have to figure, some want agree with you because they do not realize or even want to mention in the last two years ,since 06' the new Congress that claimed to be able to lower gas prices has done absolutely nothing to lower , but they sure did like letting them rise to double in two years.  Democrats lie and people die, simple as that. They have pandered to get votes.

    • Hunters donate tons of meat to food pantries, pay the fees that expand wildlife conservation programs, keep national parks preserved, and protect motorists’ lives.

    • Hunters are true nature lovers and conservationists and are the first to report poachers who disregard laws that protect wildlife and natural habitats.

    • Hunter-funded conservation groups are primarily responsible for bringing back American wildlife that was nearly extinct in the last century.

    • Hunting is safer than soccer, football, baseball, cheerleading and ping pong.

    • California game managers must wait ‘til a cougar threatens a human before they can rock its world. How sweet. Because of this brain f**t, today the number of people that naughty cougars have killed has doubled from what it was before cougar hunting was banned.

    • When the greenies protected the alligators on Sanibel Island, Florida, the alligators ate the tree huggers and their dogs!

    • Bear attacks are at an historic high, and you’re more likely to be attacked by a bear where hunting isn’t allowed—like in a national park.

    • Bears with no fear of humans often attack after hearing gunshots—a diner bell that a deer or elk is waiting for them—and thanks to the tree huggers, hunters can’t do anything about it.

Aviation collisions with wildlife cost $500 million annually.

    • Livestock losses to predators cost $71 million annually.

    • Hunting protects trees from being destroyed by scavenging deer. Those trees help protect land from erosion and house songbird populations.

    • Vegetarians who don’t eat meat because they love animals are eating vegetables from farmers who kill deer, rabbits and vermin that would destroy the vegans’ lunch. Remember that, hypocrites, when you crunch your little baby carrots and worship your edamame beans.

As stated above, this is just a simple sampling of the stonking truths Frank pummels the pro-stupidity anti-hunting cabal with.

It is also  the stupidity of people that do not want to drill for oil on our on soil, yet they are the same one who blames Bush for every thing.  Bush has tried to make us more independent , by drilling and building refineries, but has been shot down every time by the democrats.

  11. $4.00 gas will decrease demand ,leading to alternative technologies...

  12. thats another reason why I love McCain..he wants to limit foreign oil..(we pay Iraq billions of dollars in oil every year) He also wants to start drilling in the US..Can you believe in the last month gas has gone up almost 1 dollar..!!

  13. Why does Bush support $4 a gallon gas?? He had nearly 8 years in office to fix this problem. Obama is not the president now!!

  14. and that's why you'll never be elected into government.

new drilling will cost a fortune and in 5-10 years we'll be in the same place we are now. same with nuclear, uranium is not renewable. let's stop stalling and fund energy that will last forever.
