Why does Phil Gould repeat everything he says when doing the rugby league commentary?

Sometimes he repeats things three and four times - has he packed into too many scrums or does he think that most rugby league supporters are thick?

That's simple... he loves himself... he repeats himself because he loves the sound of his voice and he likes people to listen to him. Repetition is essential to him as he probably knows people aren't listening to him. He's biased, uninformed opinion is what makes people ignore him.

He and Ray Warren should retire as they offer nothing to the commentary of the game.  Both have trouble remembering who is who and what is ACTUALLY happening in the game.

Like a lot of commentators he can't think what to say next, or hasn't got anything important to say so he repeats or waffles.

Because he is a jerk that thinks his point of view is the only one that matters and  because all his co commentators keep saying he has one of the best football brains involved in the game it really has gone to his fat head . his head looks like a bag full of spanners, mixed in with a dropped pie. i think the bloke has had too many knocks to the head, he quotes the obvious in all games and people hang on his words and say he is a champion. 70% of people sit in there lounge room and point out the same thing, and the other 30% are in the toilet. he is over rated
