medicines (Claritin, Sudafed, etc) only see to be available that packaging, while Tylenol and ibuprofen are available in bottles. A medicine that has to be taken daily for years, like Prilosec, should be available in a handy bottle instead of those tedious, peel-down-through two-layer packages. Safety/overdose issue? Tylenol and ibuprofen are at least as dangerous, and available in child-proof bottles.

Okay, the flat package can be handy to carry, but I want the option!

  1. IF IT IS A PRESCRIPTION FROM THE DOCTOR IT COMES IN A BOTTLE AND YOU CAN GET IT AT WAL-MART ON THE RX PLAN FOR 4.00 FOR A 30DAY SUPPLY. HOPE THIS HELPS. I USED THIS MEDICATION AND IT CAME IN A BOTTLE. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR AND HE CAN HELP OR CALL 1-888-4-PPA-NOW THEY CAN HELP WITH MEDICATIONS AT LITTLE OR NO COST.

  2. the FDA regulates the amount that can be sold.  if you need that much Prilosec, make some changes.  eliminate all milk products from your diet, drink more water, don't drink caffeinated beverages, eat soy yogurt with bacteria, and take probiotics.  follow up with your doctor for a full GI workup.

  3. lve wondered that too.l guess they feel justified in charging $0.80 a pill this way for Prilosec. 42 Prilosec would fit in a pretty small bottle and then to put a $27 price tag on it would look like an even bigger rip off. l take Prilosec too and like the results but it always hurts to shell out $27 for an OTC mediaction/ Plus they would a lot to theft l would  imagine.
