Why does Pseudomonas aeruginosa stain gram positive instead of gram negative?

although Pseudomoas aeruginosa is a gram negative bacterium, when a gram stain is performed it results as a gram positive

  1. Peptidoglycan in the cell wall take up the stain and displays it in gram positive fashion, I think.
