Why does Sarah Palin say her daughter made a choice to keep her baby; but has an ANTI-CHOICE policy.?

The choice for her was whether to raise the baby herself or put it up for adoption. It's not like there are only two choices, abortion or raising the child yourself. The first choice you make is to be sexually active before you're ready for the responsibility. Then you choose whether or not to use reliable protection. Then you choose whether you "woman up" and take responsibility for your previous choices, or get rid of the result and go on your way. Then you choose whether you put your baby up for adoption or raise it yourself. There are actually many choices made.

A mother can be proud of her child yet still disappointed in their decisions. What do people expect her to say, "This is my daughter Bristol. We are very disappointed in her for getting pregnant." Of course she's going to support her. And apparently Bristol has a supportive enough family that she will be able to raise the baby herself.

Because no matter what any policy is, we still have a choice.  That is a right to anyone who breathes.  Your choices may be limited or driven by laws or even society, but in the end there still is a choice.  Just like you have in this country a choice to pick a candidate and his running mate who will protect life or one who could care less and would rather let a baby die in a closet.  Of course there are many other reasons to or not to vote for a candidate, but that one seems a bit more on topic for your question.

no it isnt! its Bristols choice to abort or keep the baby. she is of age and can choose. its none of our bussiness if she is pregnant or not. kids make choices, we cant watch them 24/7. if that were my child i would let her make that choice, since she made the mistake, then let her be the one to raise that child and live with it. having a child at that age is never a good idea, but as mom use to say, you make your bed you lay in it. kids nowadays just have very little morals anyhow, no matter what parents try to teach them, some do but not many. i spend enough time at the high school. i dont get why they cant just do what we did and just say no. i was strong enough at that age to obstain so i dont get why kids now cant seem to do that. i dont get it. then again if your health isnt in danger abortion really isnt an option! or should not be, i dont want my tax dollars paying for it for sure. you play you pay , sorry that is just the way it would be, i am afraid sarah palin is a nicer mom than i would be about this. if my daughter were preggo she would be out of her own toot sweet, i sure am not gonna raise a grandchild no way in heck!

A very telling Freudian slip. By the way, Palin's statement said they praised Bristol's "decision to have her baby."

Let's be clear: when you're talking about the possibility of adoption, you say someone has chosen to "keep" the baby, not "have" the baby. "Decision to have her baby" is a clear reference to carrying the baby to term and delivering as opposed to abortion.
