Why does Shawn johnson get more publicity then Nastia?

It seems to me that shawn johnson seems to be on more shows and events rather than Nastia. not that I am complaining, I love SHawn Johnson!

Shawn is WAY BETTER LOOKING! She's also much more likable. Nastia is always looks like she's mad, but Shawn never lets that smile leave her face

I think the media chooses Shawn Johnson because she is a cuter athlete and seeing her makes people feel good. She looks like a genuinely happy person where Nastia looks a bit bitter all the time.

like what everybody said that shawn is just way more sexier the nastia...Shawn is always smiling and thats a big plus..its shows her fun personality and nastia is never smiling and that's just not a good look!!!

Because Shawn was winning pretty much everything for the last year. So she was the big favorite. A lot of people forgot about Nastia.

Nastia also had an ankle injury last year and when she came back from that she was making some really ugly mistakes. So a lot of people may have been underestimating her.

I think it's a combination of the following:

1. She has a better on-camera personality. She comes across as genuine, modest, personable and mature.

2. She looks cuter and smiles more.

3. She was born and raised in Iowa, while Nastia was born in Russia.
