Why does Six Flags have a Muslim day but the military can not get in on a discount?

OK We are stationed in IL and the Six Flags here just had Muslim day.We went a few weeks ago and asked about a Military discount. We were told they did not have one OK Well why can you call yourself Great America if you are not going to support the people who help you stay great? Bucsh Gardens and many more have a free day once a year for military and ALWAYS have a discount. I just dont get it. But yes lets change our foods and turn a ampitheater into a mosque. Does anyone else have issue with this?

Disney has a g*y day? I bet Walt Disney is kicking in his cryogenic chamber right about now. I can't believe that Six Flags has a Muslim day, do they have a Jew day too? What about a Christian day? What does that mean anyways, are they entitled to any discounts or anything if you can prove your Muslim?

It is pretty stupid, but it doesn't really bother me all that much. I mean, it's like people who complain about Black History month or Spanish history month, it doesn't mean anything, and white people rule the world anyways.

No. Don't demand privileges that you haven't earned. Military discounts are a courtesy or, in many cases, a way to get your business. Why are you upset the Muslim day, because you are not a Muslim? Muslims can't be American?

I don't call this country great. And if you traveled abroad more often you'd find that out for yourself. There are many other countries out there that do more for their citizens than this country.

Appreciate it when you do get a discount but don't demand it. It looks arrogant.

Have you been to ITT on base?  You can buy discount tickets there for Six Flags and just about any local attraction.  most places do not offer a military discount at the gate, you have to purchase them on base.

Not every amusement park has the money to offer FREE admission.  I admire Busch Gardens for thier patriotism and we go there every year when my husband returns from deployment.

Being military doesn't mean you are entiltled to things free or discounted.

EDIT:  WTF?  You do know that this is a volunteer military right?  They know exatly what they are getting into from deployments to pay.  They don't ask for handouts and discounts.  It's funny how the spouses are more concerned with freebies, discounts and handouts than the actual military members.  My husband is an E-5.  I'm grateful for discounts but I would never demand one or expect one.  If we can't afford to go somewhere at full price, we don't go at all.  The pay isn't as bad as you think.  My husband makes over $35,000 a year with base pay, BAH, BAS in the AF. He's been in for 4 1/2 years.  That doesn't count his deployment pay.  It's enough if you budget and if it's not enough..get a job or stop having kids.

And about your "Muslim Day".  Everyone still had to pay full ticket price to get in.  Tickets were niether discounted or free. It wasn't just for Mulims.  Anyone could enter who paid for a ticket.  They just had special food available for muslims and special shows aimed towards muslims.  No different that a "black History" or "Spanish Heritage" day.  Six flags also has a Polish day, events for Catholics, Baptists, Methodists and Episcopalians.  They even had a Hard of Hearing day, where they had sign language interpreters available for the deaf and hard of hearing.  Do you just hate Muslims or what?

I would imagine it's because there are many people who hate on muslims for no good reason. Not terrorists, but just regular muslims.

And so these muslims get angry that they are being treated unfairly. And that mkes them more likely to become anti-american. Why shouldn't they when people tell them they aren't REALLY americans everyday.

So places bend over to make them feel included in the country to make up for the fact that rednecks call the muslim familly down the street that is 3rd generation americans, dirty terrorists..

Whereas the military is loyal, steadfast and not very likely to take off and join al'queda.

You bet I take issue with it.  The San Diego zoo has free admission to anyone in uniform. I will let Six Flags know how I feel about this.

Well for one thing not all Muslims are terrorist so they can have a day, I mean come on Disney has g*y days no big deal as for the military discount Bush Gardens and Sea World give military discount because one of the founders was a Marine, so that's why you get one there. Anyway it does suck that they dont offer any discounts but theres alot of companies that dont. Like Papa John i ordered a pizza there but they dont got a discount sucks but hey its life.

When I was in San Antonio, the ticket office on base sold discount tickets to Six Flags.

If you are that broke, stay home with your kids and play in the backyard for free.   Theme parks are money pits.
